The pictures of 2Pac performing at Prince’s Glam Slam West nightclub in Minneapolis, were auctioned off by MakersPlace on Thursday (February 23) at 3 P.M. EST.

The Immortal Collection: 2Pac Edition

2Pac’s legacy is the most cherished and respected in the Hip Hop industry and still to this day his body of work lives through between Art and Activism. His belief that everyone has the right to express themselves through whichever artform includes everything from his love and passion for Hip Hop, to acting, from his writings to his dance, from photography to self-expressing through fashion. And for 2Pac, this also included his choice of jewelry. So MakersPlace decided to create a collection of NFTs to honor his legacy.

2Pac NFT drop announcement

The collection named as “2Pacalypse92”, includes 17 shots of the Late Great rapper, that are captured by Lawrence “Loupy D” Dotson, the former managing editor at Kronick Magazine.

In addition, each NFT will come with it’s own original negative, allowing Hodlers to own a piece of Hip Hop history in both a digital and physical capacity.

The new photos come as 2Pac estate announced tentative plans to release four new songs from the late Death Row Rapper.

The news arrived via 2Pac’s “only official fan page” earlier in February, which wrote on Instagram that the album “will consist of previously released recording from the ‘2Pacalypse92 Now’ period to Pac’s ‘Thug Life’ period with 4 previously unreleased pre-Death Row tracks”.

A handful of these photos will also appear in FX’s upcoming docuseries Dear Mama, which dives into 2pac’s relationship with his mother , the former Black Panther activist Afeni Shakur who passed away in 2016.
